JAKARTA, KalderaNews.com – BPK PENABUR Jakarta, a leading Christian educational institution in Indonesia, recently celebrated its 74th anniversary on July 19, 2024.

Over more than seven decades, the institution has remained committed to implementing a holistic learning approach across its 79 schools, integrating Character Education Based on Christian Values (PKBN2K) as the foundation for strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile.

To mark its anniversary, BPK PENABUR Jakarta highlighted several flagship programs, including the PENABUR Children Choir (PCC).

On July 27, 2024, PCC celebrated its fourth year with the launch of its debut spiritual mini album titled “My Prayer” in a concert held at the TKK 6 PENABUR Auditorium in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

PCC, a choir consisting of 80 selected students from various educational levels, has achieved remarkable success, including winning a gold medal and being a finalist in the Grand Prix at the Singapore International Choral Festival (SICF) 2023.

Their new album features a range of musical styles, from traditional Batak to Jazz and Orchestra, supported by renowned musicians such as Nicholas Rio and Steffanie Surya.

Jessica Fedora Amadea, the Artistic Director of PCC, said, “The process of creating the album over the past three months has been a new and enjoyable experience for the students.”

Savaya Carnie Sonia Sebayang, one of the choir members, expressed her pride in participating in the album production, “This is the biggest project for us, and we trained diligently.”

During the album launch event, Thompson Hariyanto, a BPK PENABUR Jakarta board member, emphasized that PCC represents the successful integration of process, struggle, and team unity.

Preparing for the PICF 2024

In addition to its flagship programs, BPK PENABUR Jakarta is also preparing for the PENABUR International Choir Festival (PICF) 2024, scheduled for September 7-14, 2024.

This sixth edition of the festival will feature 126 choirs from both domestic and international participants, with activities including Conducting Masterclasses, Singing Masterclasses, and Workshops.

The Directorate of Cultural Development at the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud Ristek) and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) have fully supported the event, hoping it will inspire creativity and contribute to the advancement of tourism and the creative economy in Indonesia.

Aside from PCC and PICF, BPK PENABUR Jakarta will also host various exciting activities for the 2024-2025 academic year, such as the PENABUR Esports Tournament (PESTA) and the PENABUR Sports Week (POP).

BPK PENABUR Jakarta remains dedicated to fostering well-rounded students through various positive activities and supporting the artistic talents of its students.
