Sharing for Empowerment

Transitioning from the Philippines to Singapore has presented Eden with significant cultural adjustments.

Culture Shock

“Studying abroad for the first time has been a culture shock,” she admitted to KalderaNews.com after the Panel Discussion “Fostering EU-ASEAN Collaboration: Empowering Future Leaders through Education and Industry Partnerships in Southeast Asia” in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 17 2024.

However, the English-speaking environment in Singapore has eased her adaptation, facilitating her academic pursuits and interactions with peers.

One of the main challenges Eden faced was navigating the Chinese-speaking environment prevalent among her Chinese-speaking friends at NTU.

Despite these challenges, Eden has thrived during her seven months at NTU, immersing herself in research and academic pursuits with determination and resilience.
