ACEH, KalderaNews.com – Policy Analysis and Development Agency (PADA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, together with the Almuslim University, located in Bireuen-Aceh, and Malikussaleh University, based in Lhokseumawe-Aceh, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in cooperation on the development of education, research and community service.
The signing was done on March 22nd, 2018, at Almuslim University, Bireuen-Aceh. The MoU was signed by the Head of PADA, Dr. Siswo Pramono SH, LLM, together with DR. H. Amiruddin Idris, SE, M.SI, Rector of Almulism University, and Prof. DR. Apridar, S.E., M.Si, Rector of Malikussaleh University.
This MoU is essential to strengthen existing cooperation between PADA and Almuslim University as well as Malikussaleh University. In 2017, PADA together with Malikussaleh University has conducted a study collaboration on ‘Security Prospect in the Sulu Sea and Sulawesi Sea’. In 2018, BPPK and the University of Almuslim are conducting a study with the theme ‘Development of Economic Cooperation and Connectivity between Indonesia (Aceh) – India (Andaman / Nicobar) – Myanmar.
Such cooperation is one example of the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to promote national interests through total diplomacy and to materialize the mission of enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation in various sectors.
In addition, it also shows the importance of the role of the Academic Institutions, particularly Universities from all the regions in Indonesia, in supporting Indonesia’s foreign policy, among others, through the formulation of strategic policies.
With the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, it is hoped that the parties can cooperate within the scope as mentioned in the MoU, while enhancing the partnership cooperation between BPPK and the Almuslim University and Malikussaleh University. (JS)
